Art is my refuge to escape the daily stress and anxiety. When I paint my mind is finally on low volume and I can focus on doing only one thing, to paint. It is also my meditation and my mindfulness practice most of the time.
It relaxes my anxiety and I feel good almost all the times after I paint.
Watercolor has this soothing effect, especially the way I paint lets the paint flow on the paper surface finding unexpected ways to settle.
There are some days when I have something in my mind and what I do on paper is not what I expected, but that is when my mindfulness practice comes along helping me to accept what it is and see what I can learn from the experience.
